Let’s build the Octonauts’ medipod!

For the Octonauts’ latest mission in Octonauts Live! Operation Reef Shield, they head to Australia’s very own, Great Barrier Reef. There they discover a problem that threatens the reef dwellers and their home. An outbreak of spiky and very hungry Crown of Thorns Starfish are on their way to eat the reef!

For this special mission they deploy a new undersea medical station—the medipod, which is exclusive to the show. It’s designed to keep the reef clean and healthy. Of course the clever Tweak helped design the contraption, taking inspiration from the trapezium-type shape of Laverne the sea sponge (also in the show – it’s the little creature that sits on Clovis the crab, keep an eye out!).

Peso the medic uses the medipod to take care of wounded and sick sea creatures throughout this adventure. It’s equipped with everything he needs to respond to a medical emergency. Inside it there are also “patient pods”—these bubble capped tanks open like the Octonauts’ helmets, allowing fish to enter and exit. They also provide sheltering habitats for injured sealife.

To make this cool medipod just like in the show, enter your details, download the activity sheet below and with the help of a grown-up cut out the parts and construct it.

We’d love to see how your medipods turn out, so feel free to share them on our “Octonauts Live Australia” Facebook page, or use the hashtag #LifeLikeTouring on Instagram.

Have fun Octo-cadets!
