Creature Report: Penguins, Phillip Island and Prizes

admin Blog Leave a Comment

Victoria’s Phillip Island has long been known for its Penguin Parade. Every night the penguins emerge from the water and waddle their way across the beach, heading for home, much to the delight of visitors from all over the world. Known as the “little penguins”, they are the smallest of their species and found only in southern Australia and New Zealand.

Like the Octonauts’ medic, Peso, Phillip Island Nature Parks also save sea creatures. The Nature Parks projects include rescue and rehabilitation in the event of a man-made disaster; building new little penguin nesting areas; monitoring little penguin health and behaviour; and protecting the little penguins’ natural environment. They even established the charitable organisation, the Penguin Foundation, to protect and preserve the island’s little penguins.

As loved as the penguins are there are plenty more reasons to enjoy Phillip Island, including Churchill Island Heritage Farm and Koala Conservation Centre.

Along with the Penguin Parade you could visit all of these nature parks in our competition! Thanks to Phillip Island Nature Parks, we’re giving away 5 x Family Passes valued at $104 each!
